Has this person been clean and sober for at least three years, or at least five years if relapses have occurred?
  3. Does this person understand that tonsure as a Reader requires that he read Holy Scripture daily?
  4. Please give me three examples of how this person has eagerly and with humility accepted and acted on guidance or direction from a Deacon, Priest, or Bishop.
  5. Please describe several examples of how this person takes good care of his family.
  6. Please give me two or three examples of how this person contributes to the greater community

  9. Having read the Requirements for Graduation from The Reader-Excellence Challenge, please select three requirements which are most likely to be very difficult for this person and describe why that is so.
  10. [Humility] Please provide at least three examples of this person doing an unpleasant or menial task in the service of others without being asked to do so.
  11. [Initiative] Please give me at least three examples of this person identifying a problem or opportunity and then personally resolving that problem or capturing that opportunity
  12. [Trustworthiness] Do you have any example of this person failing to keep a confidence and/or failing to do what he has committed to do.
  13. [Leadership] Please provide at least one example of this person (personally and without being asked to do so) forming a formal or informal “team” to serve others or solve a problem or provide a celebration for the community.
  14. [Composure] Please give me an example of this person “turning the other cheek”/remaining calm when others were angry or upset and/or when he was being insulted.
  15. [Self-Control] Do you have any examples of this person’s periodic or continuous inability to control his spending, eating, alcohol consumption, domination of conversations (always “getting the last word”), anger, etc.?
  16. Please give me three examples of what you have seen this person do (not just what he has said) that indicates he is eager to be a Reader.
